This weekend BMW will be taking its BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor to the annual OutDoor fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany. We first saw the concept last September, noting that it was a departure for BMW in more ways than one -- with the German automaker stretching itself into segments in which it previously had no foothold. The BMW Active Tourer is meant to preview a whole new generation of small cars from BMW, but one of the biggest changes underneath is a transverse layout of the engine -- a setup that BMW has traditionally shunned in favor of a longitudinal layout.
Cadillac will debut the redesigned CTS sedan at the New York auto show in late March and put the car on sale this fall. The redesigned Escalade SUV is set to arrive in early 2014. A Lamborghini source has apparently revealed that the Italian supercar firm’s replacement for the Gallardo – due next in 2014 – will be called the Huracan. The insider let slip to Auto Express that the new V10-powered supercar will be called Huracan, which is Spanish for hurricane. This is in contrast to earlier reports that suggested the Gallardo replacement would be called the Cabrera.
